Dear Willow Run Supporter:
First and foremost, a very special “thank you” for your support and commitment to Willow Run and our Team! A year ago as we began this transformation of Willow Run, we would have never believed what we have accomplished together! We have invested more than $1.5 million in our developing Willow Run into becoming “Your Premiere Golf Experience”. With your support, and in spite of heat, drought, and construction last year, our rounds last year were up 17% to 32,500.
A recap of our capital improvements include the following: twenty new teeing complexes, three new bunkers, the rechannel of one creek and filling in another, over 5,000 linear feet of new concrete and crushed guartsite cart paths, massive regrading for better drainage topped off with 11 acres of sod, and of course a completely renovated 16th hole (new signature hole?), with a new pond, a new bunker and regraded green surrounds. On the Clubhouse side, we now have a new “sports bar” area with seating up to 40 people, several new big-screen TV’s, and a new cedar bar with seating for 10. Outside the clubhouse we installed a new patio with stone pavers, including a pergola and gas fireplace. Finally, we installed a new Corporate Event Tent with seating in excess of 200, near the practice green and 18th green. We certainly hope and trust you have enjoyed these wonderful improvements to Willow Run.
Our 2013 improvements will be completed in the spring and include the following: completion of #16 teeing complex, rechannel the creek and install new fairway bunker on #15, and regrading of the ditch on #12 fairway. Many people ask us why we make certain improvements to the course. Our goal is, and always has been to make the golf course more playable for the average golfer, yet still challenging for the more accomplished player. From a design standpoint, we try to incorporate other features such as shot value (risk & reward), design variety, aesthetics, ambience and memorability. Another upgrade will include a 9” X 16’ Daktronics LED Integrated video sign behind #18 green, for advertising and information viewing opportunities.
We also have some exciting plans for a new clubhouse, fitness center, new golf holes and residential development that will enhance Willow Run, the leader of golf course facilities in a large area. We are currently in negotiations with adjoining landowners in an effort to make these plans a reality. We will certainly keep you abreast as we finalize plans going forward.
Fees were recently established for the 2013 season. Enclosed is a Fee Schedule, along with a Customer Information sheet. As always, we are offering an early season discount up to 10% for payment received by March 10, 2013. Your completed Customer Info sheet can be mailed, faxed (335-3584) or e-mail to us at proshop@willowrungolfcourse.com. You may also sign up online at willowrungolfcourse.com.
